Life with purpose, every day

“Fit the day” experiences

Every Memory Care resident has unique needs, abilities, and rhythms. That’s why we design activities and routines to “fit the day.” Whether it’s enjoying favorite music, paging through a life story book, or participating in therapeutic exercises to maintain mobility, each experience is chosen to lift spirits and spark memories.

Your loved one’s story, always remembered

Through our Hear a Story, Share a Lifetime™ program, each resident’s history is honored and revisited. These stories guide care and deepen connections between residents, associates, and families.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you determine if someone is ready for Memory Care?

Memory Care may be appropriate when Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia begins affecting safety, daily routines, communication, or overall quality of life. Our team works closely with families to understand each person’s needs and recommend the most appropriate level of support. If someone does not currently need specialized dementia care, Assisted Living may be the right place to begin, with the opportunity to transition to Memory Care later if needs change.

What specialized services are available for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s?

Our associates help with personal care, medication, meals, and routines, while encouraging independence whenever possible. Licensed nurses are also here for added support.

What activities or therapies are used to support memory and cognitive health?

Our Memory Care neighborhood offers purposeful, structured programming designed to encourage engagement, routine, and meaningful moments throughout the day. Residents enjoy activities such as gardening, chair exercise, seasonal celebrations, therapy dog visits, music, themed events, and opportunities for social connection in a calm, supportive setting. Programs are thoughtfully adapted to each resident’s abilities and interests to encourage participation and promote a sense of purpose.

Will families stay involved?

Yes. Families are an important part of each resident’s care journey. We encourage loved ones to attend celebrations, seasonal events, birthdays, and other community gatherings, while maintaining regular communication with our care team. By working together and learning each resident’s life story, preferences, and routines, we create more meaningful daily experiences and stronger connections.

How much does Memory Care cost and what is included in that price?

The cost of memory care varies depending on the type of apartment you choose and the level of support needed. At Meadowood, one monthly rate covers a private living space, daily meals, housekeeping, and personalized care. That includes help with bathing, dressing, and medications, plus access to enriching activities, monitored gathering spaces, and caring associates available day and night. Families also receive regular updates and opportunities to stay involved.

What training do Memory Care staff members receive?

Memory Care associates at Meadowood receive specialized dementia education focused on understanding Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, effective communication techniques, person-centered care, and meaningful engagement. In addition, Legend Senior Living is committed to having all Memory Care associates earn the Certified Dementia Practitioner® (CDP®) credential through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, demonstrating our commitment to providing knowledgeable, compassionate dementia care.
