Willow Bend Assisted Living & Memory Care Hires Wayne Zartman as Sales Director

July 1st, 2019 | Press Releases

Legend Senior Living® has announced the hiring of Wayne Zartman as Sales Director at Willow Bend in Denton, Texas. With more than two decades of successful, innovative sales experience, he’ll have an immediate impact on the community.

Zartman earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Texas-Arlington. He began his career in advertising and digital media sales. He made the decision to make the switch to healthcare in 2012 when he started a business that provides nurse practitioners to conduct in-home health risk assessments and remote medical coders for risk management companies.

“Wayne has sales experience dating back more than 20 years,” said Dana Erwin, Residence Director at Willow Bend. “More importantly, his passion and compassion for seniors is extraordinary. He does everything from his heart and people feel that.”

His parents were in their mid-40s when he was born and their friends were much older than his friends’ parents. For that reason, Zartman said he always felt more comfortable talking with older folks growing up and still does to this day. “In my opinion, there are two times when we’re most vulnerable and need the most help in life: at the very beginning of life and toward the end of our lives,” he said. “I feel a responsibility to help guide and care for those closer to the end than the beginning.”

In addition to sales, Zartman will assist with marketing, events and outreach in the community. He’ll work with referral sources and residence organizations to ensure they’re aware of the high quality of living and care that Willow Bend provides. “I want to educate them on what makes us different, but I’ll also be a resource to help them navigate through the challenges and questions that arise when looking at senior living options, regardless of whether they choose us or not,” Zartman said. “It’s a choice only they can make and I want to help them make the best decision for their specific scenario.”

For the 18 months prior to joining Willow Bend, Zartman called on just about every hospital, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation, independent and assisted living residence within 30 miles. “The Legend residences always felt different; like they were in this industry for the right reasons,” he said. “For that reason alone, I always said if I ever got into assisted living, I would want it to be with Legend.”

That feeling extends from the leaders in each residence to every associate, Zartman explained. “I think it is extremely important that every Legend employee’s philosophy aligns with Legend’s mission and values. Legend associates hold themselves to that standard. Anything less is unacceptable.”
