Legend Senior Living® continues its reputation for and emphasis on culinary excellence in senior living by naming Veronica Majors, CEC (Certified Executive Chef) to the top chef position at its new Windsor Pointe Vibrant Independent Living community, which opens later this year. Windsor Pointe will be the 43rd senior living residence for the Wichita-based company, with residences in six states.

“We’re so excited to have Veronica Majors, renowned chef to exclusive country clubs and resorts, leading our team of chefs and staff,” said Debi Thomas, Vice President Of Business Development, Legend Senior Living. “Our new residence in Jacksonville is setting a high bar in every area. Veronica’s international exposure and stunning list of achievements come from a vision and dedication to craft that will make the Windsor Pointe culinary experience for residents worthy of the finest restaurants.”

Veronica Majors, known affectionately to her colleagues as “Chef Vee,” is well-known as President and Executive Chef for her own company, Inspired Personal Chef, Inc., which for the past 21 years has provided clients as close as Jacksonville and as far away as Europe with personal chefs for individual “designer” culinary experiences. This unique concept brings ultimate dining to the client’s home, business or any environment.

She was honored by the American Culinary Federation as the Florida regional northeast “Professional Chef of the Year” during her tenure at World Golf Village’s Renaissance Resort and received The Leadership Award while working at the Hammons Hotel & Resort. Chef Vee, who is club certified, was also named a Top 10 Chef by ClubCorp International.

“My résumé reflects a country club and resort-style approach to a total dining experience,” said Majors. “You have to operate at the very height of your talents with everything you do, while maintaining peak efficiency, managing a large staff and serving upscale diners who expect each meal to be an original. I’m most excited when I can bring that level of performance to the seniors I serve.”

Among her many endeavors, Majors cites her 23-year role as Team Lead for the 5,000-member Impact Church, where she also designs exclusive menu options for the executive staff, Impact Church cafe and special guests, as the one that speaks from her spiritual and emotional center.

“At my heart, I am service-oriented, and it’s a kind of mission to bring nutrition to active seniors. I have enjoyed much success by marrying my knowledge of health and nutrition with creative flavorful taste profiles,” said Majors in describing her culinary philosophy. “I am passionate about promoting wellness through healthy eating but never at the expense of palatable, delicious meals. Windsor Pointe is the perfect place to combine a passion for serving seniors with a passion for cuisine.”

“I learned the fundamentals of haute cuisine during an apprenticeship with a French chef, according to the principles of Ritz and Escoffier, who set the highest standards of hospitality and cooking the world follows today,” said Majors. While a Certified Culinary Instructor at Whirlpool International, Majors cooked and trained at the 5-Star, 5-Diamond Hotel Schweizerhof in Lucerne, Switzerland; the Johnson and Wales Culinary School in Providence, Rhode Island; and the American Culinary Federation in Atlanta, Georgia.

“We’re very excited for the Windsor Pointe residents to have one of the best chefs in the country designing unparalleled dining just for them,” added Thomas.
