The Windsor of Gainesville Celebrates First Anniversary with Chamber Ribbon Cutting

March 26th, 2019 | Press Releases

The Windsor of Gainesville is hosting a ribbon cutting event to celebrate being open for one year on Tuesday, April 9, from 5-7 p.m. The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce will conduct the ribbon cutting.

There will be live entertainment provided by Annasemble Chamber Orchestra. Guests will enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by its chef and beverages provided by Integrated Physical Therapy.

“As a new business in the Gainesville community, we want to get to know our neighbors and want them to get to know us,” said Ruth Brunner, Sales Director. “We want to be an integral part of the Gainesville residence and for people to experience the welcoming environment, not only for seniors, but for family members as well.”

In its first year The Windsor of Gainesville has supported a number of local organizations with their fundraising efforts including ElderCare of Alachua County, Rotary Club, the Alzheimer’s Association and the Jewish Council of North Central Florida.

“Each week, our residents make sandwiches that are donated and delivered to St. Francis House, which provides emergency and permanent supportive housing,” Brunner said. “They also put together donations of dog and cat food donated to the Alachua County Humane Society.”

The Windsor makes the residence home for its residents and celebrates events both big and small. “We recently celebrated Chris Price’s 100th birthday and held our own version of the Oscars for our residents,” Brunner said.

This is a great time for the public to get a brief overview of the newest Windsor community, see the building and its amenities, but more importantly, get to know the Windsor team. The event offers people the opportunity to explore the new community. Brunner said professionals, seniors and their loved ones who are exploring assisted living and memory care options will attend, along with Windsor residents and their families.

Conveniently located near UF Health Springhill and UF Health Shands Emergency Center, along with close proximity to shopping and other residence features, The Windsor of Gainesville offers assisted living and memory care services in a warm and inviting setting.

Legend is a family experience and a family business. Tim Buchanan, Legend Senior Living’s founder and CEO, pioneered the senior living concept across the nation nearly 30 years ago. Today, two generations of Buchanans lead the company and guide its future, balancing innovation and creativity with the wisdom of experience and longevity. As a privately held family business, Legend lives by the same principles of servanthood, compassion, and character, guided by faith, upon which it was founded.
