The Windsor at San Pablo Assisted Living Receives Deficiency-Free Infection Control

August 11th, 2020 | Press Releases

The Windsor at San Pablo, a Legend Senior Living® residence, has achieved a zero-deficiency Infection Control survey from the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the Florida state office of regulations. The Infection Control surveys are in addition to the regular bi-annual inspections conducted by the AHCA.

“To reach our goal of zero deficiencies in every Legend community, we strive to exceed required standards for all of the six states in which we operate. With the coronavirus pandemic, we implemented infection control precautions and completed thousands of hours of training in order to equip associates and residents with the information and skills needed to reduce their risk of infection,” said Kristin Sutton, RN, BSN, Vice President of Clinical Services for Legend Senior Living. “The survey results speak volumes to the staff’s commitment to the residence and the residents we serve. This accomplishment offers residents and their families peace of mind knowing that the residence is operating at or above the highest standard of quality service, environment and care.”

Each senior living residence in Florida must pass an unannounced infection control survey. Surveyors conduct observations, documentation reviews and interviews with staff, residents and families, which drive the outcomes of the survey and highlight any potential areas that would require further review.

During an inspection, Agency surveyors review a sampling of clinical records, policies and procedures, and other relevant documents. They also conduct interviews with residents, family members, staff, visitors and volunteers.

Each Legend Senior Living residence conducts its business to be survey-ready every day. “We accomplish this through our quality management and quality review processes to ensure all regulatory items are at or exceeding compliance standards,” Sutton said.
