Legend Senior Living® has announced the hiring of sales directors at two of its residences in Oklahoma: Lyndsey Reyes at Legend at Council Road in Oklahoma City, and Toni Duncan at Legend at Jefferson's Garden in Edmond. Both bring years of healthcare leadership and experience and will make an immediate impact to their respective communities.

Reyes began her career in senior care at the age of 18, and worked for Legend Senior Living in supporting floor staff roles, initially as a CNA, then as a CMA and ACMA. She relocated to Western Oklahoma and gained sales experience as an account executive for a home healthcare company, then as a regional sales director for assisted living residences prior to coming back to Legend.

“Senior care gives you a different perspective on life,” Reyes said. “They appreciate your time and everything you do for them.”

To be successful in her new role, Reyes said she wants to learn as much as she can, not only about Legend at Council Road itself, but how she can aid and build relationships with residences around it to build a strong network.

Although she worked for different companies in a different region of the state, Reyes said she took a lot of Legend with her. “To me, my whole career is surrounded by the Legend standard. Our mission and values create a strong atmosphere in which we abide to create a great environment, not only for residents, but associates as well.”

Duncan has been in the healthcare industry for almost 16 years. She began her career in 2003 as a customer service representative for a home health and hospice company. Over nine years of progressive experience, she became regional manager of market development. She then made the decision to switch to the operations side of things.

“I was an administrator for more than five years, but I found that I truly missed sales and working directly with seniors,” she said. “That’s when I made the change to join Legend. It has always had a good reputation. I did my research and asked a lot of questions before choosing to join the organization. I want to believe in the company I’m working for. If I’m making a commitment to seniors that we provide the best possible care, I have to truly believe that. I also want to work for a company that supports its employees.”

She said communication and education are essential to success in her role. “I feel that seniors need more education about resources available to them as they age and their needs change,” she said. “Unfortunately, so many of them, and their families, don’t prepare for the future. Then they have to react quickly, which causes more stress on them and their families. I want to be a resource to help make the transition as smooth as possible.”
