Legend Senior Living Promotes Wendy Dotson to Corporate Sales Specialist
June 25th, 2019 | Press Releases
Legend Senior Living® has announced the promotion of Wendy Dotson to Corporate Sales Specialist. Dotson has been Sales Director for The Windsor of Ocala for nine years. She also serves as Preceptor for New Sales Directors for the company.
With over two decades in the industry, Dotson brings a wealth of experience in senior care to her new position. “I have always been looked to in my life as the problem solver and advice giver,” she said. “I feel I am blessed to be in my true calling. I get to take part in the personal relationships with the families and residents and can share my heart with others. This is truly my happy place.”
“Wendy is a proven sales professional in the senior living space. In her new position, we plan to leverage her knowledge and skill set across the entire portfolio of Legend Senior Living communities,” said Derrek Schartz, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Dotson will work with targeted residences as a primary sales resource to generate move-ins, new leads, and ensure the sales process is fully implemented and executed. Her responsibilities will include developing sales strategy for individual communities, working with onboarding and mentoring, coaching and training new hires, and improving communication and sales processes.
Dotson said she’d always worked in the medical field that’s been an extension to senior living, serving in rehabilitation centers, home health care, diagnostics, and durable medical equipment, in addition to her roles in sales, both at Legend and other senior living communities. Regarding her new role, she said, “I’ll be a sounding board, available to consult on tough situations and allow the teams to move forward with the knowledge I can share through demonstrating Legend’s standards, best practices, systems, and processes.”
Dotson said she joined Legend Senior Living in 2010 because she felt its philosophy and values aligned with her own. “It means everything to me. I can’t support anything that I don’t truly believe in. I wear my heart on my sleeve.”
