Legend Senior Living has announced the hiring of Samantha Jones as Regional Director of Operations. The senior living residence is owned and operated by Legend Senior Living®, a Wichita-based company with 41 residences in six states, including eight in Texas.

Jones began her career in healthcare in admissions and marketing more than 17 years ago. She progressed to director roles, including Executive Director of Skilled Nursing/Assisted Living. She held regional roles in multiple areas of post-acute care including, home health/hospice, skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care and independent living. Prior to these roles, she worked as a clinical counselor specializing in children, adolescent and family counseling.

Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in clinical counseling. “My entire career has been focused on a helping profession,” Jones said. “I had the opportunity to work with seniors while in graduate school and returned to senior care a few years later. I have always loved being with and working with seniors. I consider it a privilege to be able to work with individuals and families during their later years in life.”

Jones said she loves the ability to contribute to making sure that the individuals and families she serves receive the best possible experience they can while living in Legend’s care. “That’s the core of my personal ‘why’ I come to work every day,” she said.

As Regional Director of Operations, she will work closely with the Director of Clinical Operations and Marketing and Sales Directors to ensure that the Texas Regional Directors and their teams have the tools, support, and resources they need to assure the residents and their families are receiving the best possible care. “I am excited to meet the teams and learn the culture of Legend and how it is carried out at each of the communities,” she said.

When the opportunity became available, Jones was familiar with some of the local Legend properties in Texas and the level of care and commitment they have. “After learning more about the company’s commitment, including the Legend Pillars of Practice and Core Values, I knew that this was a company that had the same commitment to excellence and would drive me to want to do my best every single day,” she said.

Jones said that the organization’s philosophy is the most important aspect of choosing to join a company. “I’m looking at the long term and as I often say, you have to be able to be OK with yourself when you lay your head on your pillow each night. So, I wanted to align with a company that had high expectations of care and commitment to seniors and their families. I knew that Legend had that as a core of its mission.”
