Legend Senior Living Continues Growth with Mansfield Opening
May 8th, 2019 | Press Releases
Legend Senior Living® is proud to announce the opening of Legend of Mansfield. It is the fifth Legend residence to open in a 15-month period and the second new residence in Texas in the same time frame. Legend of McKinney opened in September 2018. Other new Legend residences opened in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. The company is also expanding in 2019, breaking ground this month in Colorado Springs and Jacksonville, with more growth projected.
Although Legend operates over 40 residences in six states, the company remains a family experience and a family business. Two generations of Buchanans lead the company and guide its future: Tim Buchanan, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer; his son, Matt, serves as Executive Vice President. Today, as a privately held family business, Legend lives by the same principles of servanthood, compassion and character, guided by faith, upon which it was founded.
“Many of the large, national, senior living providers are publicly traded, and formed through divestures and acquisitions of many locations at one time,” said Matt Buchanan. “Legend is different. We’re a privately-held, family-and-executive-owned company with a mission to serve and a passion for care. Our growth plans and business decisions aren’t dictated by quarterly earnings projections that Wall Street looks for,” said Buchanan.
“Legend continues to look for opportunities to serve seniors,” said Chris Mahen, Chief Operating Officer. “What sets us apart is our high standards and operational execution abilities. Clinically we excel. We offer Gold Leaf Dining and other amenities. And we have well-trained associates, and great customer service.”
Legend doesn’t just open a residence to serve a community’s needs; it becomes part of that community. “We engage in the residence by participating in local activities and organization that impact seniors and their families,” Mahen explained. This helps the residents maintain a sense of purpose and continue to have an impact on the residence in which they live.
“Our recent growth speaks to the reality that we are fulfilling our mission to serve seniors,” Matt Buchanan said. “We’ll continue to grow as a company, which allows us to leverage best practices in service delivery, increased talent, further train and advance our associates, and deliver on our commitment to the customer.”
Conveniently located near Mansfield Methodist Medical Center, shopping, and other attractions, Legend of Mansfield at 2500 N Walnut Creek has access to nearby open spaces and recreational areas. The 63,000 square-foot residence features 75 maintenance-free and pet-friendly apartments in both assisted living and memory care. The carefully, purposefully designed environment inside Legend offers a variety of experiences centered around supporting each person’s independence. Amenities include casual and anytime Gold Leaf dining, fitness and wellness programs, scheduled transportation to appointments, and companion services.
The new residence employs 40 associates which includes a culinary staff, a dedicated memory care life enrichment team, housekeeping, maintenance, caregivers and management.
Legend encourages independence and dignity to all residents and assists them in maintaining their independence longer in a welcoming environment. Because it’s essential that they can have a family relationship without having to rely on their loved ones for the care or assistance they need, Legend assists with care so the families can have a strong relationship and continue to make memories. Being involved and engaged means residents socialize more because they’re surrounded by opportunities and peers, and can make new friends and memories in the later years of their lives.
