Legend Senior Living® is pleased to announce the awarding of scholarships to employees to continue their education. Legend believes that learning is a life-long process. The program was developed to provide financial aid to associates in attending college or completing a certification program.
The organization awards four scholarships in each region: one for $1,000 and three for $500. The four regions are Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Colorado, and Florida and Pennsylvania. The program began in 2014 when it awarded $2,000 in scholarships; this year, the amount totaled $10,000. Since the program’s inception, the company has awarded scholarships totaling $30,000.
“Our mission statement says it well,” said Teresa Bengtson, Vice President of Human Resources. “’We are committed to providing a positive reinforcing work environment that recognizes the value of all staff and fosters individual growth and improvement.’ We also have launched A Commitment to Associates this year that reconfirms our efforts to empower, encourage and support all associates, both personally and professionally.”
To be eligible for the scholarship , the applicant must have been employed with Legend for 12 months as a full-time associate. The scholarships can be used for undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as certification programs.
