Dana Hills Joins The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch as Sales Director

The Windsor of Lakewood Ranch has announced the hiring of Dana Hills as Sales Director. The senior living residence is owned and operated by Legend Senior Living^®, which is based in Wichita, Kansas, and has 40 residences in six states.

Hills has an extensive background and broad experience in providing the best in customer service, both in senior care and other industries. She worked in real estate law for more than 20 years and operated a successful title examination business. “I learned the importance of excellent customer service, integrity and delivering exactly what I promised in a proactive timely manner,” Hills said. “Conscientiousness and accountability were certainly a big key to my business success.”

Her life drastically changed in 2005 when her mother was diagnosed with stage 3C cancer.  During frequent visits to the hospital, she witnessed how attentive and compassionate the case worker, oncologist, and nurses were. After her mother’s death, she was grief-stricken and began to explore her spirituality, which led her to a deep dive into studying philosophy. “I realized to have a truly fulfilling life I had to go back to my true passion and dream of serving others in society and to be a catalyst for positive change,” Hills said.

“In 2010, I began working for home health care companies and I loved it!” she said. “I felt I had come full circle from my teenage years, and had found my true calling: helping seniors.”

Hills had her first role in the industry when she was 16 working after school serving dinner to

seniors living at the nearby residence in Concord, Massachusetts. “At that time, I knew very little about seniors, except that my grandparents were the kindest people I ever met” she said.  “What could be better than working with people like them?”

While doing home care companionship, she met a gentleman struggling to take care of his wife with dementia at home. She had found a new calling and began to research assisted living residences and opportunities. She became the Life Enrichment Manager for a residence in Cohasset, Massachusetts. “All my training, reading, and experience with mindfulness and being centered allowed me to be fully present and live in the moment with these residents with cognitive impairment,” she said. “This work had purpose and meaning; something that was missing all those years working in the legal field.”

Hills relocated to Florida in 2016 to escape the harsh New England weather and continued her career in senior care in sales and marketing. “In my new role as a Sales Director, my philosophy and mission must absolutely align with the company’s,” she said. “The most important criteria for why I choose to work with the team here is the integrity and passion for serving seniors.
