Legend Senior Living® will be pulling back the curtain on the total reimagining of its Legend of Hutchinson Senior Living residence. Visitors will be among the first to see the results of $5 million dollar remodel that took nearly two years to complete. The project expanded and redesigned the area’s best option in senior living.

The ‘First Look’ Event will be held Sunday, January 15 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. During the event, the public can take a guided tour through the residence while enjoying an array of chef-prepared hors d’oeuvres.

Legend of Hutchinson is located at 2416 Brentwood, Hutchinson, KS. RSVPs should be placed to (620) 663-9195.

“It’s a truly remarkable achievement by all the businesses and Legend staff involved in this ambitious expansion and improvement,” said Paul Hansen, Legend Vice President of Marketing. “The construction went smoothly and the fit and finish was executed beautifully. We’re very excited to unveil the new Legend of Hutchinson in this First Look before our Grand Reopening.”

The building has been expanded by more than 10,000 square feet. New construction accounts for much of the expansion, with the addition of a movie theater with bistro, a combination country kitchen and meeting room, and a greatly expanded dining room. Areas expanded by internal remodel include Memory Care activity space and the two main building entries. The interior areas, all corridors, and commons, have seen a total makeover of ceiling, floor, paint and finish, with exterior improvements including new windows and siding.

The senior living residence, which offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care, was the eighth in Kansas for the privately owned Wichita-based company when it was purchased in 2019. After Legend acquired the residence, plans to remodel and expand the residence to conform to Legend standards immediately began. The goal of the innovative reimagining was to be able to better serve the seniors of Hutchinson and Western Kansas with amazing amenities and an active, social lifestyle.

“The Hutchinson business community, The Chamber and the Legend residents have been so supportive during this major upgrade,” said Hansen. “We expect a big turnout, with local dignitaries and Legend leadership in attendance.”
