Legend Senior Living Breaks Ground on Harrisburg, PA Personal Care and Memory Care Residence

Legend Senior Living®, with headquarters in Wichita, KS, recently broke ground on its Legend at Silver Creek Personal Care and Memory Care residence for a projected opening of July 2023. Legend owns and operates 43 Legend and Windsor residences in six states. Silver Creek will be its fourth Pennsylvania property.

Legend at Silver Creek will be located on the West Shore, a minute’s drive from the Silver Creek Plaza and Silver Spring Square shopping centers. The address is 425 Lambs Gap Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. This puts Legend’s new Silver Creek residence in the heart of Harrisburg’s desirable West Shore area, a short drive to Midtown, between the Carlisle Pike Highway 11 and the Harrisburg Expressway Highway 581.

“We’re very excited to announce the beginning of construction on Legend at Silver Creek,” said Debi Thomas, Legend Senior Living VP of Business Development. “This will bring the most advanced care in Personal Care and Memory Care to the Harrisburg area.” Thomas emphasizes that the location is ideal for residents and visiting family members, with access to shopping and hotels, just two miles off I-81, only four miles from UPMC West Shore medical center, with other medical centers nearby.

The residence itself will comprise 88,000 square feet to accommodate 75 Personal Care apartments and 20 Memory Care apartments, along with dining venues, recreation areas, a garden and specialized rooms for such activities as physical therapy and advanced Memory Care therapy and programming. Apartments and the residence overall will advance the concept of “purposeful design” that Legend is known for.
