Legend Senior Living Breaks Ground in Colorado Springs
June 6th, 2019 | Company News
Wichita, Kansas-based Legend Senior Living® began construction of its third residence in Colorado in early May. Legend of Colorado Springs, a two-story assisted living and memory care residence, is planned for opening in Fall 2020.
Located near Chapel Hills Drive and Research Parkway, it’s just five minutes away from hospitals, Chapel Hills Mall and other shopping and the United States Air Force Academy. A spacious balcony provides wonderful views of the Rocky Mountains and the Academy campus.
“Legend Senior Living is a family-owned and operated company, which sets it apart from many other senior living communities,” said Paul Hansen, Director of Marketing. “As a company that truly values people, we nurture a sense of family, friendship, and servitude. We change our residents’ lives for the better, while focusing on their independence and dignity.”
Legend associates are essential to the resident’s overall experience and providing the best quality of care. The company continues to educate and train its associates so they’re equipped to assist residents with day-to-day needs, offering well-designed nutrition, exercise, social, and spiritual programs.
Legend was recently received the NRC Health Employee Approved award, has been certified twice as a Great Place To Work® by an independent authority on high-performance work cultures, and named as a finalist in Fortune Magazine’s 2018 Best Workplaces in Aging Services. These certifications are based on extensive rating provided by Legend associates. “We’re really proud of these accomplishments,” Hansen said. “Creating a culture where every associate can thrive directly correlates to the resident-first mindset we have at Legend and to being experts in the industry.”
Legend residences are full of inviting social spaces and personalized touches, designed with residents in mind. Each apartment offers residents privacy and the ability to make it uniquely their own. The environment inside Legend of Colorado Springs will offer a variety of experiences centered around building residence and is designed to support each person’s independence. Amenities include casual and anytime dining; day spa; full-length films in the Oscars Theater; fitness and wellness programs; and companion services. With residents’ privacy in mind, the residence also has a personal care suite where they can consult with our health care team in a comfortable private setting.
Legend’s Memory Care will offer a stand-alone secure environment with tailored, specific therapeutic and recreational activities as well as innovative therapies for residents with dementia.
In total, the residence will have over 90 assisted living and memory care apartments available in 80,000-square-feet and create approximately 60 jobs. Prospective residents can choose from studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments.
Legend Senior Living opened five residences since January 2018 in Colorado, Texas and Pennsylvania and Florida bringing its entire portfolio to 41 properties. The company will also soon be breaking ground on an independent living residence in Jacksonville, Florida.
