Spaces Designed for Comfort and Familiarity
Life with purpose, every day
“Fit the day” experiences
Every resident has unique needs, abilities, and rhythms. That’s why we design activities and routines to “fit the day.” Whether it’s enjoying favorite music, paging through a life story book, or participating in therapeutic exercises to maintain mobility, each experience is chosen to lift spirits and spark memories. Small details like helping with a recipe once loved or walking a familiar path bring comfort and a sense of purpose.
Your loved one’s story, always remembered
Through our Hear a Story, Share a Lifetime™ program, each resident’s history is honored and revisited. These stories guide care and deepen connections between residents, associates, and families.
Peace of mind for families
Choosing memory care is never simple, but families take comfort knowing their loved one is surrounded by compassion, professional expertise, and a philosophy built on dignity and respect.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you determine if someone is ready for memory care?
It may be the right step when home no longer feels safe or daily routines have become too hard to manage. Signs can include wandering, confusion, or challenges keeping up with meals and medications.
What specialized services are available for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s?
Our associates help with personal care, medication, meals, and routines, while encouraging independence whenever possible. Licensed nurses are also here for added support.
What activities or therapies are used to support memory and cognitive health?
We offer programs that match each person’s abilities and interests—things like music, crafts, walks, and other familiar activities that bring comfort and joy.
Will families stay involved?
Yes. Families are an important part of our approach. We offer regular updates, support groups, and plenty of ways to stay connected.
How much does Memory Care cost and what is included in that price?
The cost of memory care varies depending on the type of apartment you choose and the level of support needed. At Hemsley House at University Park, one monthly rate covers a private living space, daily meals, housekeeping, and personalized care. That includes help with bathing, dressing, and medications, plus access to enriching activities, monitored gathering spaces, and caring associates available day and night. Families also receive regular updates and opportunities to stay involved.
Do Memory Care associates have any specialized certifications or training?
Yes. Legend Senior Living is committed to providing advanced dementia education for our Memory Care teams. We require all Memory Care associates to go through the Certified Dementia Practitioner® (CDP®) training through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. Each Legend Memory Care community has multiple certified associates who have completed specialized training in person-centered dementia care, communication, behavior support, safety practices, and daily care strategies.
