Allentown's Newest Senior Living Community Now Open

September 17th, 2018 | Other

Legend Senior Living® is proud to announce that its 39th community, Legend of Allentown, is officially open after a 11-month build. Residents began moving in September 10.

“We’re happy to bring the newest and much-needed personal care residence to the local area,” said Debi Thomas, vice president of sales and marketing at Legend Senior Living. “Our associates went through pre-opening training in preparation for opening day and the residents are excited to be the first to move into the beautiful community.”

Located near Hamilton Crossing on the site of the old Macungie Elementary school, prospective residents can tour model apartments. There are eight floor plans to choose from, including one- and two-bedroom units, courtyard patios and memory care suites. The environment inside Legend of Allentown is purposefully designed to offer a variety of experiences centered around building residence and supporting each person’s independence.

Amenities help residents take advantage of opportunities to learn and grow physically, socially, mentally and spiritually, and the professionals take a holistic approach to caring for the residents’ overall health and well-being.

The residence includes convenient, restaurant-style dining and dieticians who care for residents’ nutrition needs. Entertainment and cultural events fill the calendar and offer ample opportunity for residents to form bonds with each other. They can even see full-length films in the in-house Macungie Theater. Fitness and exercise programs keep them active. Legend’s home health therapy services and on-site, complete spa and salon offers a therapeutic and relaxing atmosphere. With their privacy in mind, we’ve created a personal care suite where they can consult with our health care team in a comfortable private setting.

What sets Legend of Allentown apart from other senior living residences in the area is that it is part of a family-owned and operated company. Legend Senior Living associates are essential to the resident’s overall experience and providing the best quality of care. “Legend continues to educate and train our associates so they’re equipped to assist residents in their day-to-day needs,” Thomas said.

Legend encourages independence, purpose and dignity to all residents and assists them in maintaining their independence longer in a welcoming environment. “It’s essential that they can have a family relationship without having to rely on their loved ones for the care or assistance they need,” Thomas said. “We assist with care so the families can have a strong relationship and continue to make memories. And in the community, residents begin to socialize more because they’re surrounded by opportunities and peers, making new friends and memories in the later years of their lives.”
