Meadowview of Greeley has announced the hiring of Bobbie Jo McCarley as Residence Director. The senior living residence is owned and operated by Legend Senior Living®, a Wichita-based company with 41 residences in six states.

“My original plan was to become a nurse so that I could help with others,” McCarley said. “I started working in senior care when I was 18 years old and absolutely love it.”

Her grandmother had a tremendous influence on her career path. “I grew up in a very large family where my grandmother created a wonderful home,” she said. “I never heard her complain about having to do the chores, cooking, or even caring for the kids. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and I helped care for her until her passing in 2007.”

McCarley has worked in health care her entire career, beginning at age 18 when she became a private sitter. She worked in home health and then assisted living in 2011. Her responsibilities include oversight of all operational and fiscal obligations of the community. She manages the day-to-day operations with intense focus on customer service to ensure that Legend’s core values, philosophy of care, Pillars of Practice, and mission statement are upheld daily.

“I like working in senior care, serving the needs of our elders,” McCarley said. “They took care of us, now it’s our turn to care for those who no longer can perform day to day activities.”

McCarley said Legend Senior Living’s mission statement is what sealed the deal. “My ideal work environment allows me to dedicate and provide the highest standards of quality of service, environment, and care to residents and their families,” she said. “I believe that in order to have a successful community, I must live and breathe the same philosophy, values, and mission as Legend.”

Meadowview of Greeley is dedicated to providing the highest levels of personal service and a warm, comfortable, and actively social environment to enrich its residents' lives. It celebrates their unique personalities and lifestyles with services designed especially for their individual needs, so they will thrive in an environment of friendship, family and robust support that values and respects residents' privacy, dignity, and independence.
