River Oaks Assisted Living Achieves Deficiency-Free Survey

February 7th, 2020 | Press Releases

River Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care, a senior living residence owned and operated by Legend Senior Living™, has achieved a deficiency-free survey from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). This means that the residence has met federal and state standards with zero deficiencies for 2019.

“Accomplishing a deficiency-free survey takes unrelenting attention to detail and real passion to perform at the highest level for the residents,” said Constanza Pierre, Legend’s Regional Healthcare Director for Texas. “It's an intense review of performance and compliance by the provider and is one quality indicator for individuals and families facing placement decisions. An excellent state survey means you or your loved one can expect the highest level of care in an optimum environment, which is important when choosing an assisted living community.”

Assisted living residences are inspected bi-annually to evaluate services and renew state licensure. Surveyors arrive unannounced and they interview staff, observe care and procedures, and check records for compliance to regulations on care, confidentiality, cleanliness, residents’ rights, and quality of services. If each of the many applicable regulations is met, the assisted living residence is awarded a “deficiency-free” survey.

“Legend Senior Living develops plans, provides education and invests in the associates to continuously improve our services and the communities.” explained Pierre.  “We pride ourselves on the services that we provide to residents. We stay survey-ready. All of our staff at River Oaks are to be commended for their show of caring attitude, servanthood, and teamwork. It is an honor to be a deficiency-free assisted living community, which is an ‘A+’ rating.”
