Legend Senior Living Promotes Melissa Bossert to Regional Director of Operations Florida

Legend Senior Living®, owner of The Windsor Senior Living Residences throughout Florida, has announced the promotion of Melissa Bossert to Regional Director of Operations for Florida from her former position as Legend’s Area Director of North Florida.

Bossert’s long history in senior living began 25 years ago as a resident lifestyle facilitator with Westminster Communities of Florida, where she spent 18 years. After serving as her next company’s interim executive director, she quickly moved into regional directorship and then executive directorship of Plantation Oaks Senior Living. She joined Legend as Area Director of Operations for North Florida just two years ago.

“Melissa so readily assumed responsibility and so thoroughly lived up to the Legend ideal of leadership, her advancement was immediately predictable,” said Gwen Thibault, Legend Divisional Vice President of Operations – Florida/Texas/Pennsylvania. “Her depth of experience from the residence level to regional management is exceptional, and we’re proud to announce her move up.”

The Regional Director of Operation’s role is a natural progression of responsibilities for Bossert. As an Area Director, she has overseen and trained new Residence Directors among Legend’s Florida communities. Legend’s Florida operations, with ten communities, are its largest among the company’s six-state network of 40 residences. The leadership structure is accordingly larger, with subregions.

“I’ve been a passionate practitioner in senior care for nearly three decades,” said Bossert. “Legend is the industry leader and I’ve practically ‘grown up’ in the business admiring the leadership and business practices of the company. My experience at the residence level still informs all that I’ve done in management and since coming to Legend. The customer focus is still the most important of all.”

Bossert will oversee the overall operations for Florida Windsor communities, including sales, dining services, clinical services, and life enrichment, along with workforce development. Along with providing the very best in senior care, one of her goals is to ensure that Legend associates are working in a positive environment. She said she believes that if associates are fulfilled and satisfied, then residents and their families will be satisfied as well. The quality of associates and their ongoing training are cornerstones of the company’s success.
