Green Tree Assisted Living & Memory Care Achieves Second Deficiency-Free Survey in a Row

Green Tree has achieved a deficiency-free survey from the Oklahoma Department of Health (ODH) for the second consecutive year. All eight Oklahoma licensed Legend assisted living and assisted living/memory care residences achieved zero deficiencies in their 2018 annual re-licensure surveys. This makes the 11th zero deficiency survey in a row for Legend Senior Living® residences in Oklahoma.

Green Tree is owned and operated by Legend Senior Living, which is a privately held senior housing and services company based in Wichita, Kansas. The company is a family-owned business with a proven track record of serving seniors for nearly 30 years.

Residence Director Julie Dyson expressed her sentiment that every associate working in Green Tree was responsible for it achieving zero deficiencies. “I couldn’t be prouder of our team,” she said. “I truly have the best team I have worked with in 17 years in the business. Each senior living residence in the state must pass an unannounced, annual re-licensure survey by the ODH. “Oklahoma is one of the toughest regulated states,” said Dyson. “It is very difficult to attain a zero-deficiency survey.”

The survey measures residence rights compliance, compliance with hiring processes, background checks – including criminal history and citizenship – and training (abuse, neglect misappropriation of funds). The inspection includes sanitation, dining and kitchen facilities, clinical care negotiated service agreements, cleanliness of living quarters, delivery of care, and physical asset management to assure a homelike and safe environment.

Legend Senior Living has a comprehensive hiring, onboarding, precepting, and ongoing education program and processes, including regional teams that support the education and quality monitoring initiatives the company has developed over the years.

Dyson said Green Tree attained this goal by consistent teamwork and ensuring the residence exceeds the regulations set forth by the health department. “I personally focus more on the regulations set forth by the federal government, rather than the state government, to ensure we exceed the state’s expectations time after time.”

The achievement extends beyond company and its associates, Dyson said. “The residents here don’t have concerns about care and that speaks for itself. They know they’re living in a safe environment where their rights are respected. They’re very happy and enjoy Green Tree as their home.”
